Join us for these exciting specialty courses
Additional courses available by request (minimum of four people required). Course cost does not include rental of any SCUBA equipment. Times and dive locations will be determined by the instructional staff. Specialty course recognition cards are available for an additional fee.
Stress & Rescue
Diver Stress & Rescue is the next course recommended after Open Water Diver, because it helps you gain confidence and makes you a better buddy.
Learn the signs of stress, and how to deal with stress in yourself and other divers before the dive, during the dive and after the dive. You will learn skills and techniques to help you and other divers prevent and overcome common stressors associated with diving. You will also learn self aid and buddy aid skills for potentially stressful and/or rescue situations.
Dry Suit
"When the shows become longer, the days shorter and the water gets colder - then the time for Dry Suit Diving has come."
If you want to dive during the fall and winter in the colder climates, DRY SUIT DIVING is the course you should take. Visibility at these times of the year is usually excellent so it's a great time to get out there.
In your DRY SUIT DIVING program you will learn about the advantages of dry suit diving, different suits, valves, underwear and dry suit accessories. During the 2 mandatory dives you will apply correct dry diving techniques and demonstrate the correct care and maintenance of a dry suit.

Monthly Specialty Cources
Looking to learn some new dive skills? Have you been wondering what new sea life come out at night? Always wanted to try your hand at underwater photography, but never gotten the chance? Our specialty of the month program offers you the opportunity to take a different specialty course every month. We will be offering monthly specialties in Navigation, Night Diving, Underwater Photography, Search and Recovery, and Drysuit Diving. Classes will meet Thursday nights at Bamboo Reef to complete paperwork and classroom training. Then we will be in Monterey Sunday morning for our dives (Night Diving classes will take place Saturday nights).
This is a great way to earn an advanced certification at a more relaxed pace. You only have to focus on one new skill set each month. Certification cards will be issued for each specialty, with an Advanced Certification card issued after your fourth specialty. Take a Stress and Rescue class along the way and you can receive your SSI Master Diver card (must meet minimum number of dives to receive Advanced and Master certification) cards.
The cost is $100.00 per class. There will be additional costs for books and gear rental as needed. Some classes may require special equipment not available to rent. Sign up for a series of four specialties for only $350. Ask about additional discounts for dive club members.
